Meet the Team: Matthew Crisafulli, EA, CFP®

We want to introduce you to the talented professionals who make up the ACap team, who are all dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized service to our clients. This month we’re spotlighting financial advisor Matthew Crisafulli, EA, CFP® from our Los Angeles office.

Matt is a Certified Financial Planner™ and an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA).  He graduated with distinction from the Personal Financial Planning program at UCLA Extension, and also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA as well.  Upon graduating, Matt began working as a case manager at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, meeting the needs of doctors and patients alike.  After three years working in the hospital setting, he decided to turn his passion for finance and desire to help others into a career in personal financial planning, and moved from the hospital to a CPA office. Matt joined ACap Asset Management in January of 2014 and enjoys the challenges of comprehensive financial planning as well as developing long-term relationships with clients.  In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with loved ones, attending UCLA sporting events, catching up on the latest financial news, and chasing his one year old daughter all around the house.

What is your favorite thing about working at ACap?

The personalities. I appreciate that everyone is hardworking and has a great sense of humor.

Who was your celebrity crush growing up?

I don’t remember having a crush, but I was obsessed with Green Day for a good period of time growing up.

Which three countries are on your bucket list?

France, Germany, and Vietnam.

What is on your current playlist?

Too many Podcasts to count. I make great use of my time in traffic.

What was your favorite subject in college?

I didn’t really have one, but if I had to pick, I’d say Sociology. I only took one class, and I probably couldn’t tell you one thing I actually learned, but I met my future wife during that class.

What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?

I would teach him about investing to eliminate the “fear of the unknown” so that he could begin investing in the stock market sooner.

Seinfeld or Friends, and why?

Seinfeld, of course! Strictly for its quotability and applicability to almost any situation you will find yourself in throughout your life.

Using one word, how would you describe ACap?

Straightforward.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Time travel – used in conjunction with the question about advice to my 15 year old self.

What three things can you not live without?

Sentimental stuff aside (family/friends, etc)…laughter, coffee, and golf.
