This month we’re introducing Josh Pineda, our Director of Marketing!

Josh is a graduate of the University of Redlands (Magna Cum Laude, BA in English Literature, with a minor in Visual & Media Studies), contributing to his background as a writer and content producer. With digital marketing experience in a startup setting, his professional interests involve driving innovation and exhibiting culture, specializing in brand strategy and management. He formerly was the Director of Social Media at Children’s Music Fund, an LA based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. From 2013-2018, Josh ran IndieBeat, a music blog where he interviewed up-and-coming independent artists, and also hosted a podcast for the project called “Stage Presence.” He is currently working on developing his long-form writing and media projects. Typically, you can catch Josh at a concert, cocktail-bar, or museum always on the search for innovative art and experiences.

What is your favorite thing about working at ACap?

Definitely the people and the culture. Everyone here has a great attitude, personality, and strong work-ethic. We rely on each other, and it’s a collaborative environment.

Who was your celebrity crush growing up?

Zooey Deschanel.

Which three countries are on your bucket list?

Switzerland, Italy, and Cuba.

What is on your current playlist?

Oh boy, depends on which playlist haha. Some favorites include Jenny Lewis, St. Vincent, Talking Heads, Dirty Projectors, Blondie, Camera Obscura…and many, many more artists.

What was your favorite subject in college?

English Literature.

What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?

Don’t be afraid to be yourself, and get out of your comfort zone more often.

Seinfeld or Friends, and why?

Friends, because no one told me life was gonna be this way.

Using one word, how would you describe ACap?

Personable.

Mind-Reading.
